A graduation party on a boat gives your class something no restaurant can: a venue that belongs entirely to you for the day. On a private charter there are no other customers on board. You choose the music, swim in quiet bays, throw your caps against a backdrop of blue water and cut the cake on deck at your own pace. As a TURSAB-licensed agency based in Gocek, we know our boats in person, not just from photos, so we can match your group with a deck that actually works for a young, energetic crowd.
The majority of graduation trips set out from Gocek or Fethiye, with Bodrum and Marmaris available as alternatives. Gocek's sheltered bays and short cruising distances mean more time swimming and celebrating, less time underway.
Why a Boat Beats a Banquet Hall
Three things set a graduation boat trip apart. First, the venue is exclusively yours, so the day runs on your schedule, not a restaurant's seating plan. Second, the photo value is unbeatable: the cap-toss shot in front of a turquoise bay is the picture everyone keeps. Third, the sea itself is part of the programme, with swimming stops, snorkelling and sunbathing built into the day. After exam season, jumping off the swim ladder tends to be the part everyone remembers.
And the budget surprises most groups. Because the price is per boat, splitting it across the class brings the amount per graduate down to a level comparable with a night out in town. We do not quote fixed per-person prices, since the total depends on boat and date, but the per-boat figure is clear in every quote and easy to divide.
How the Day Runs
A standard trip runs from about 10:00 to 18:00. A typical Gocek graduation day: board at 10:00 with caps stowed safely, swim in a first bay by mid-morning, lunch at anchor around 12:30, a long second swimming stop in the early afternoon, then the cap-toss photo shoot around 16:00 when the light softens, followed by cake and music on deck before an easy cruise home. The order is flexible; your captain adjusts it to wind and bay traffic. Our daily yacht charter page walks through the general format of a private day trip.
Choosing a Boat for Your Group Size
Day tour boats usually take 10 to 12 guests, which suits close friend groups and small classes. For 12 to 25 people, a gulet or large motor yacht offers the deck space and seating a bigger celebration needs. Beyond that, the practical answer is a convoy: two or three boats cruising the same route, anchoring side by side in the same bays, with the whole class together at every stop. Capacity limits are a safety rule and cannot be stretched, so confirm your final headcount early. Most of our boats depart from Gocek; browse the Gocek fleet to get a feel for the options.
Decoration, Cake and the Cap-Toss Shoot
On request we arrange balloons and banners in your school colours or graduation year, a cake sized for the group, and a photographer who can join for the shoot or the whole trip. These items are priced separately and itemised in your quote. The cap-toss shoot deserves a little planning: bring caps in a bag or box, shoot in the softer afternoon light, and expect a few retakes before every cap is airborne at the same moment. Drinks policies vary by boat and are confirmed in writing during booking; for under-18 groups the day is set up alcohol-free, with chaperones arranged on request.
Safety and Timing
Swimming stops are part of the programme and always in calm, sheltered bays. Life jackets in all sizes are on board and the captain is responsible for safety throughout; just mention any non-swimmers when booking. As for timing, graduation season is June and July, and dates disappear quickly once exams finish. Write a few weeks ahead, lock your date with a deposit, and avoid the first weekend after the ceremony if you want more choice. If the weather turns, the route shifts to sheltered bays or we reschedule together.
Booking Is Simple
Send your date, group size and age range, and we reply with two or three suitable boats, or a gulet and convoy option for big classes, with clear per-boat prices and organisation add-ons listed in one quote. A deposit secures the date, and on the day your captain welcomes you at the harbour. Planning a different celebration? See our birthday on a boat and bachelorette party on a boat pages.
