An anniversary on a boat lets you celebrate the years you have shared far from crowded restaurant tables, on a deck that belongs to the two of you alone. The memory of your first date or your wedding day feels different when you talk about it at anchor in a quiet bay. The boat is chartered privately for the day, and the captain and crew become the quiet supporters of your celebration.
We are a TURSAB licensed agency based in Gocek, and we know our boats first hand. Below you will find the celebration formats, decoration options, pricing logic and, for newlyweds, honeymoon boat trip alternatives.
Why Celebrate Your Anniversary at Sea?
- Privacy: On a privately chartered boat, the deck is yours. No neighbouring tables, no time pressure, no waiter interrupting the toast. You set the pace of the evening.
- A ready-made setting: The bays of Gocek are calm and sheltered. Turquoise water and green hillsides do the decorating for you; no city terrace can compete with a deck at anchor.
- Photographs: Sunset light and the reflection of the sea create the frames you will look back on for years. A photographer can be arranged on request.
- Surprises work: If you are planning a surprise for your partner, a boat is the safest stage. Decoration and cake are set up before you arrive, and nothing is revealed until the moment you choose.
Celebration Formats
- Sunset cruise: The classic choice. A 2-3 hour programme in the late afternoon; the boat anchors in a calm bay and the deck is yours as the light softens. Duration and timing are planned according to the boat.
- Full-day bay route: A morning departure, several bays, swimming stops and lunch, with the celebration itself saved for the golden hour at the end of the day.
- Overnight escape: For couples who do not want to fit the celebration into a single day, we connect the programme to an overnight or multi-day charter, which is also the foundation of our honeymoon programmes.
Decoration and Surprise Details
Candles, flowers and balloons are the most requested touches, and a cake and photographer are arranged on request. Which items suit which boat depends on the deck layout, so the details are finalised during booking. If it is a surprise, we work only with the person making the reservation; the captain and crew know the plan in advance and give nothing away.
The same team also organises marriage proposals on a boat, so if your anniversary hides a second question, we know how to stage it.
Romantic Bays of Gocek
Departures are mainly from Gocek and Fethiye, with Bodrum and Marmaris also possible. Gocek is our first choice because its bays are calm and protected.
- Yassica Islands: Shallow turquoise water and sheltered anchorages between islets, ideal for the daytime part of a full-day route.
- Bedri Rahmi Bay: Pine forest meeting the sea, known for the fish figure painted by the artist Bedri Rahmi. Green and peaceful, it gives depth to photographs.
- Sarsala Bay: Wide and quiet, especially in the late afternoon; one of our favourite spots for a sunset celebration.
- Gobun Bay: A more secluded alternative where the evening often belongs to you alone.
You can see all boats departing from Gocek on our Gocek yacht charter page.
Dinner on Board or Ashore
Refreshments or dinner service is included on some boats and priced separately on others; your quote states it clearly. We describe how a deck table at sunset is set on our dinner on a boat page. Alternatively, a dinner stop at a jetty restaurant in one of the bays can be built into the route: the boat moors, you dine ashore, and the evening continues on the water.
Honeymoon Boat Trip: The Escape After the Wedding
The best cure for wedding fatigue is waking up in a bay where phones barely ring. A honeymoon boat trip replaces hotel schedules with a route of your own: no check-in queue, no neighbouring sunbeds, no fixed breakfast time.
For a multi-day honeymoon we recommend a weekly crewed charter on a gulet or sailing yacht. You stay in your cabin, the crew handles the boat and the service, and you follow a multi-day route through the bays of Gocek, adjusted daily to the weather and your mood. Weekly crewed gulets start from around 4,000 Euros, depending on the boat, season and scope. Welcome decoration for honeymooners can be prepared on request. Details of the weekly format are on our weekly yacht charter page.
Prices and Planning
Captained day boats start from around 300 to 700 Euros, priced per boat; boutique boats are ideal for a couple. Weekly crewed gulets start from around 4,000 Euros. Organisation items such as decoration, cake and photographer are quoted separately, and every item, included or not, is listed in your written quote.
Planning is simple: send us your date and the format you have in mind, we reply with two or three suitable boats and clear prices, and we finalise decoration, dinner and photographer details at booking. If the weather turns, we arrange a sheltered bay or a new date together. On the day itself, your only job is each other.
